ABSTRACT
Rauwolfia radix was produced both via callus and directly, using stem as an explant. MS medium containing 1 mg/1 NAA and 0.5 mg/1 Kn with 1% CH was required for proliferation of callus and initiation of root projections [visible root primordial]. Continuous [24 h] illumination was required for development of root projections into true roots. Roots formed via callus or direct on stem explant were distinguishable from each other. WRC medium was employed for root propagation, with addition of 0.8 mg/l NAA and 10 mg/l biotin

Callus cultures of Solanum aviculare forst. were established from cotyledons, leaves, stem and root segments. Callus was propagated successfully on Abou-Mandour's medium. It remained undifferentiated except for root differentiation, observed in stem and root calli

Callus cultures of Solanum mammosum L. were established for stem, leaf and root segments. Callus was propagated successfully on Abou-Mandour's [1977] and Murashige and Skoog's [1962] media. Undifferentiated callus growth active for 22 weeks was observed with varying concentrations of 2,4-D and BAP respectively in AM and MS media

Direct rooting was induced in 4 weeks from midrib of Atropa acuminata leaves with 0.1 mg/1 2, 4-D. Same treatment was found best also for callus formation. Callus growth was carried over more than a year with K + AS at different concentrations. Active root regeneration via callus was induced in old cultures with 1 mg/1 AS. Root regeneration was successful in 62.5% cultures

Rauwolfia buds were cultured in vitro for root initiation. Roots were excised, cultured and callused with 1 mg/I IAA+10 mg/I BAP. Callus was propagated successfully using different treatments. Shoot regeneration was induced on MS medium supplemented with 10% CM and 5 mg/I biotin

BotanyABSTRACT
Excised juniper multiplied in 2 weeks with 0.7% polyvinylpyrrolidone [PVP], 2% sucrose and 0.5 mg/l BAP. Hundred% multiplication was observed in the cultured buds. A maximum number of new buds [multiplication product] were obtained with 1 mg/l K, i.e. 9 buds per single treated bud
